With the publication of BlueScope Steel’s EPD for Colorbond Steel, there are now (May 2017) 36 EPDs of Australian products available. The vast majority of these is for building and construction products. This number will keep growing as more businesses are asking their supply chain for this type of information and more suppliers and manufacturers see the benefits of communicating their product’s environmental performance in an independently verified and consistent format. Importantly, in the building and construction sector, products with Australasian EPDs are recognised by the GBCA and ISCA and can be used to claim credit points in their respective rating tools.

So far, start2see has been involved in creating or verifying a total of 14 Australasian EPDs for BlueScope SteelOneSteel and ARCDuluxFibercon, and Humes.

We would be happy to assist you with any EPD related questions.
