MECLA Spotlight on Data for Decarbonisation
start2see is presenting at MECLA’s Spotlight on Data for Decarbonisation, where various lifecycle assessment approaches and different product declaration schemes are explored by a range of presenters.
Date & Time: Dec 3, 2025 03:30 PM AEST
Data accessibility lies at the bedrock of reducing embodied carbon. Engineers, specifiers, designers, and project managers cannot reduce the embodied carbon in assets they build without accurate data.
Different lifecycle assessment approaches (such as environmental product declarations and verified product carbon footprints) have emerged in the construction ecosystem to help inform decisions on carbon and the environmental impacts of products at various project stages. These approaches work hand in hand with a variety of environmental regulations and reporting schemes, such as NABERS, BASIX, Green Star and ASRS.
All of these different tools and methods have unique benefits to the industry, solving different challenges as we move toward more accessible and readily available data. In MECLA’s Spotlight on Data for Decarbonisation, various lifecycle assessment approaches and different product declaration schemes are explored. Presenters representing different lifecycle assessment methodologies and different approaches to disclosure come together to explore how each of their practices help us achieve our shared aim: a decarbonised construction sector.
