Congratulations Fibercon, for publishing the EPD of Emesh (100% recycled Macro Poly) and Virgin Macro Poly concrete reinforcement fibres. start2see is proud to have developed the EPD (plus background LCA report) for Fibercon in record time and have it published by the Australasian EPD Programme. The Environmental Product Declaration meets the best practice European EN 15804 standard for construction products.
Fibercon can now objectively state the environmental impacts of its plastic fibre concrete reinforcement products. The life cycle assessment confirms that its 100% recycled PP Emesh product offers significant environmental savings against the virgin macro poly (PP) option. See the EPD for full details (click on the image below).

Earlier this year start2see delivered the updated materials calculator that is used to determine the environmental impacts of materials used on infrastructure projects in Australia. It is great to hear that the update has been well received by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) and the users of the calculator.

Rob Rouwette was invited to contribute to "The Green Perspective", CBRE’s global sustainability blog.
The blog outlines how building developers and occupiers in the Australasian region have a lot to gain from applying a life cycle thinking approach.
Rob Rouwette's experience and qualifications have been recognised by Environdec, allowing him to undertake independent third party verification of LCAs and related EPDs for the International EPD System and the Australasian EPD Programme.
We are registered as active in Australia, New Zealand and China (http://www.environdec.com/en/Creating-EPD/List-of-verifiers).
We do operate outside of these locations upon request as well, so contact us to discuss how our experience can assist you with either developing an LCA plus EPD(s) or reviewing your LCA and EPD(s) according to best practice standards.
Rob Rouwette was the first person in Australia to achieve Certified Professional status by the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (in 2011).
In 2015, the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (ALCAS) and Life Cycle Association of New Zealand (LCANZ) adopted the American LCA Certified Professional scheme. Australian and New Zealand LCA professionals can now have their knowledge of LCA practice independently tested. The certificates are mutually recognised across the participating countries.
